One of my favourite things about living in Hamilton is there are so many hidden gems in and around the city. There are also some special places you visit that truly touch your heart and make you feel that there are some amazing people in this world. The employees and owners of Triple C Farm are exactly that. Triple C Farm is located in Ancaster and is a safe place where people with disabilities can come and learn new skills. Not only do they help people, but they also rescue animals too.
Lily and I visited the farm last summer before Mason was born. I was trying to find as many special adventures for us to go on together and I have to say this was one of my favourites. We arrived at the farm and had the whole place to ourselves. The staff greeted us with open arms and loved showing us around the farm and introducing us to all the animals. Immediately you can tell how passionate they are about their jobs and educating the people that visit the farm.
I have to say our favourite part about visiting the farm is the Petting Zoo and visiting the goats. All of the goats are so friendly and cuddly! The petting zoo area is quite bit with lots of fun activities for the goats. Lily loves running around in there with them and watching them play. The first time we visited we probably spent an hour just in this area because Lily could not get enough. They also have some beautiful horses, goats, donkeys and ducks that you can meet and feed. In addition to running the farm they also offer school and day programs for retirements homes and long term care facilities and a mobile zoo!
Yesterday we visited the farm for their fundraiser "Build a Barn" and we had so much fun! Lily remembered being there and was eager to show Uncle Taylor around when we arrived. The fundraiser was beautifully put together. They had bouncy castles, a fire truck, horse rides, petting zoo and so much more! It felt so good to go out and support such an amazing business and family.
Trust me when I say if you are looking for a local business to support this is the one! If you are interested in learning more about making a donation please visit their Go Fund Me Page here. You will not be disappointed by visiting the farm. There is fun to be had by all and it is a great family outing.
Just a few tips if you are thinking of visiting the farm:
- Make sure you bring cash as there is no debit available. It is $5 to visit the petting zoo, and they take additional donations as you wish to help them maintain the farm
- Wear rubber boots or shoes that you don't care if they get dirty especially if its been raining
- Check their Facebook page before visiting as they post all closures and changes to their hours on there
