Meet the Maker - Geeno's Bakery

Meet Gurleen, Taman, Iman & Raman they are the cousin team behind Geeno's Bakery in Burlington, Ontario. Inspired by their grandfathers sweet tooth and their love of baking. Geeno's Bakery makes and sells stuffed jumbo cookies of a large variety and they strive to come up with new and exciting flavours. They also offer smaller bite size cookies and edible cookie dough that are perfect for sharing.

What's one thing people probably don't know about you? That we are all cousins!

What is your favourite thing to do for yourself? Having a spa day once in awhile which will include doing our nails, a face mask and watching a romantic comedy

What is your favourite date night activity? Going to the arcade

What's one thing you couldn't live without? For sure our phones, they keep us connected to our business and allow us to stay in contact with our customers.

What advice would you give your younger self? Don’t take things too seriously and that bad times will pass.

How did you choose the name for your business? Our late grandfather’s nickname for our baker was Geeno and he was always encouraging us to bake as he had a big sweet tooth. We decided to incorporate “Geeno” in our business name in memory of him.

Where can people find your products? We are an online bakery, so currently our products are all available through our website.

What advice can you give someone looking to start up their own business? We would just say go for it! We wanted to start a business for a while now, but always felt hesitant and nervous to start. It it best to just get started and learn along the way.

What sets your business apart from others alike? We are a family run business that was started by 4 cousins and we are always trying to create new flavours that people have not tried before!

What is the most challenging part of running your business? Most challenging part is balancing school and our bakery at the same time, but we love what we do, so it is completely worth it!

What does a typical day look like for you? Currently our day consists of doing online school and baking on our days off.

Delicious Tasty Kid approved Are just a few words that I would use to describe our decadent treats from Geeno's Bakery. That were hand delivered to our house! Come on, who doesn't love getting delicious treats delivered to their doorstep? My kids couldn't wait to dig into their treats as soon as they saw the box, I almost didn't get a photo of how pretty it all was when it arrived. Lily and Mason couldn't get enough of the tasty cookies and the small cookies were the perfect size for their little hands. For me the big winner was the cookie dough! That is a weakness for me, and I couldn't resist taking a few spoonful's and let me say it didn't last long LOL

Our favourites were the cookie box - 24 small cookies in Trick or treat, Chocolate chip & Hazelnut and the cookies & cream cookie dough

These cookies would make a great treat for yourself and your family but if you are looking for a hostess gift or a treat to have dropped off at someone's door Geeno's Bakery is who you need to contact. With the uncertainty of Covid it's been difficult to connect with family and send gifts for special occasions. So why not, contact Geeno's Bakery and pick out a tasty treat for someone you want to remind that you are thinking about them and have it dropped off at their doorstep! I am sure they will thank you!
