My family... awwww Who's your IG inspiration? All super moms! What advice would you give your younger self? Don't stress the small stuff. How did you choose the name for your business? When starting the company we wanted to make something that everyone could enjoy. A product that was comfy, cute and animal friendly. We developed the Pudus Slipper Sock and needed a name that would encompass our many objectives. We came across the cute little Pudu one night and immediately knew it would be a perfect fit. How do you balance having kids & running a business? The age old saying it takes a village, is so true. My husband and I both have busy schedules and have to coordinate down to the hour. We rely heavily on grandparents, work unorthodox hours and have to support each other through busy times. Where can people find your products? Our products are available through our website www.ilovemypudus.com, Amazon and many boutique & department stores throughout Canada and the United States. What advice can you give someone looking to start up their own business? Go for it - it's never a repetitive day! Work hard, and trust your ideas. Ask for advice from people around you, everyone has something to offer. What sets your business apart from others alike? We are a family owned business started by my mother, brother and myself. We recognize that others are going to try to duplicate our products. We always try to stay one step ahead and constantly try to innovate and create the most comfortable, high quality, vegan products. What is the most challenging part of running your business? Definitely, growth. I think taking a business through to the next growth stage is extremely challenging. What does a typical day look like for you? This is a hard answer. During covid, everything has been turned upside down and we are trying to make due. I wake up at 5am to work out. Then, play with the kids, & make breakfast. Since school has been out, it has been a combination of parenting, meetings, and completing my work. If work has been sidetracked due to kids that day, I complete it after they go to bed. Everyday is different right now, and we are trying to make the most out of it. Whether it is summer, winter, spring or fall I am always wearing cozy slippers and socks! In the summer the AC is on so high mine and the kids feet are always cold. Not only are the adult approved but they are kid approved too! Lily wears her's almost everyday. They have non-slip grip on the bottom which is perfect for my rambunctious son who is always running and sliding all over the place. And soon enough Violet will be able to wear her slippers and be extra cozy right along with us. These are the types of purchases that I love because they will last generations they are such good quality. So when Mason and Lily outgrow theirs, they can pass them down to their sister and she can enjoy them too! Who doesn't love kids items that last!
