Meet the Maker - Spot the Elephant

Meet Jasmine, the maker behind Spot the Elephant Clothing Co from Elgin County, ON. Jasmine's vision of her clothing company is one of organic & chemical free products for babies/children that fit true to size and are as comfortable as they are pretty. All of her clothing is made by her, in her home studio. Jasmine uses organic and high quality cotton knits and bamboo fabrics purchased from Canadian fabric companies. Even the tags on the clothing are made on eco friendly fabric and paper! In my mama opinion she nailed her vision for her company and I was very pleased with the products! But let's get to know Jasmine first, and you can read my review below :)

What has been the most successful way for you to promote your business? Instagram!! I can’t believe the Instagram community. Women I don’t even know are so supportive and helpful!

How did you choose the name for your business? I wanted to include an elephant because the town I live in uses Jumbo the Elephant as its town representative but I wanted to give him a different name so Spot it was : )

How do you balance having kids & running a business? I am still figuring that out. I’ll let you know when I do lol

What has been most challenging about starting your own business? Getting people in a sea of millions to like & notice my product. I have been very lucky along the way to team up with some other great local business to promote our products together.

@CAMARA.CREW Stamp of Approval:

As I am sure you can tell by now I love supporting small shops, especially ones that are able to produce ethically made clothing that are not only adorable but fit true to size and are high quality. When my items arrived I was pleased to say that they checked off all those boxes for me. I purchased the Johnny Cash Jet Black Raglan Crew for Lily in at 2T and it fits her perfectly with just enough room to grow into it a bit more. It is one of the softest fabrics I have ever felt and the perfect crew to wear underneath a jacket to keep Lily warm. I also love that when Lily is done wearing it, she can hand it down to her brother. Of course I couldn't resist picking something up for Mason to so I got him the Cotton Terry Knit Adventure Harem pants in 0-3 months. They are just as soft as Lily's sweater and the pattern is to die for! I can't wait for my little peanut to grow a bit bigger so he can get lots of wear out of them.
