Busy Books for Toddlers - featuring Usborne Books

Books, books and more books! Give me all the books. I've loved reading from a very young age and nothing has changed that. When I found out I was having Lily I was so excited to start a book collection for her and now we are able to carry on that collection with Mason. There is nothing sweeter than snuggling up with my babes and diving into a good story. Neither Lily nor Mason are at the point where they can read books yet but I love listening to Lily interpret what she sees in the book and exploring the photos with the kids.

When I met Alice I could tell that she shared the same love of reading that I do. Seeing how much passion she puts into her business and ensuring that her children have high quality books to read is so inspiring. I knew immediately that I wanted to team up with her to bring you guys a book list of suggestions for your kiddos from Usborne Books.

Each week for the month of June I will be sharing different Usborne Books topics and why we love the books gifted to us from Alice! To learn more about Alice and what inspires her please read her story below.

This week's topic is Usborne Activity Books! The Activity Books that we use are:

These are my favourite of there books by far for a few reasons:

1. They are educational but fun at the same time. While Lily is a bit too young to fully grasp the concepts of these books. I love that I am able to expose her to learning to write her letters and numbers in a fun way through using Usborne Activity Books.

2. The wipe clean books are durable and can be re-used. I am always looking for books that I can transition from Lily to Mason and who knows maybe onto another child sometime down the road. With the dry erase and wipe clean activity books I can use them for years to come.

3. They come in so many different topics that you can explore! From learning how to tell time, how to draw, ABC's, 1 2 3's and more you are guaranteed to find a topic your child will love.

4. They will keep your kiddos busy for a large chunk of time. Lily loves playing with these books and will engage anywhere from 10mins to an hour depending on how she is feeling. She will go from one book to another and I find learns something new every time. The sticker book is just challenging enough for her right now that it keeps her extra busy without fully needing my help. We also have a lot of fun using our imagination together while working on the sticker book.

5. They are great for travelling! Looking for an activity in the car? Travelling on plane? These books are a great go to activity when you really need to keep the kid's busy most.

6. They are great for people who aren't into reading story books. My husband isn't one to sit and read a book with the kids however, he will easily engage in these books with Lily.

7. They are mess free! Yes the dry erase marker can be a bit messy but it is easily removed. I love with the magic painting books that they only require water so it is a great activity for toddlers. The worst mess that she can make is spilling the water vs. getting paint everywhere.

Worried these aren't for you! Don't be. They have a large selection of other activity books such as; activity cards and tins

drawing, doodling and colouring

holiday and travel activity books

magic painting

rub down transfers

tear-off activity pads

things to make and do

write-in activity books

Stay tuned next week for another lineup of Usborne Book features! In the meantime if you want to learn more be sure to contact Alice for all your book needs!

Alice's Story

Almost 3 years ago Alice was invited to Facebook party, a place where you could hang out and buy books. Alice was so excited but then found out that the company was unable to send items to Canada. Being the boss mama that she is, with some hard work and determination she searched for a way to sell books from home in Canada. That is when a google search brought her to Usborne Books Canada. Alice was sold and quickly decided that she wanted to start selling Usborne books herself. She found a rep here in Canada and joined the team. Alice began reading up on network marketing and put together a business plan. Alice feels very fortunate to have met so many lovely moms to join in on the book journey with her. Alice loves reaping the benefits of discounted and free high quality books for her children while earning an income on her terms. Alice loves that her job is to inspire parents and children to love books. Alive believes that there are so many benefits to reading for both us and our children. Her mission is to get amazing books into the hands of as many children as possible. While also inspiring mothers to take some times to themselves to enjoy a good book!
