Family projects are the best kind of projects.
Ones that bring people together and create memories that will last a lifetime.
That is exactly what the Camara Crew Playhouse did for our family. Which is why I wanted to share this project that we've been working on for quite some time with all of you.
Now, spoiler alert this isn't going to be the super modern and fancy playhouse that you've probably been seeing a lot of on Instagram over the Spring and Summer. Instead, this is one that is full of love, memories and things that reflect our family and children.
So let's start at the beginning. This playhouse originated in the garden at my parents house as a greenhouse that my husband, Chris built. He was going to tear it down last summer but we decided not to and instead to move it to another location in my parents backyard and turn it into a playhouse for our kids. We spend a lot of time at my parents house. They have a huge backyard and the kids love going to Grandma and Grandpas house to play. So we knew this was the perfect thing to do -- and of course Grandma and Grandpa agreed. So we moved the greenhouse and started turning it into a playhouse. Last summer we didn't do much work to the playhouse other than put up new walls, a roof, some planters and we put a fresh coat of paint on it.
It wasn't really until this summer that the project came to life. Chris and Lily picked out special flowers and planted them around the doll house. The kids looked forward to going to my parents house to water their plants and to see how much they grew from the last time we were there. Then my mom took the project on with 2 of her friends and really took the playhouse to the next level. As part of the kids birthday present they decked out the playhouse with things that all our kids would love. From a specialized cubby for each of them to hang their stuff up, to chalkboards, a kitchen, a table fit for 3, new chairs, lights and so much more! This playhouse became the most magical play in the world for our kids.
But what is most magical about it is that its a place was built with so much love from everyone who means so much to our kids. Chris, myself, my parents, Chris' dad, our friends and family all helped to make this place magical for our kids and I couldn't even begin to tell you how grateful I am for each and everyone one of them. Seeing the excitement in our kids eyes when they first saw it and every time we go over to my parents house is the best feeling. And already in a few short months we've made memories in that playhouse that will last a lifetime.
There is no doubt in my mind that in the years to come this playhouse will evolve with our kids and that we will only continue to make more special memories together as a family.
