We're goin' to the zoo, zoo zoo. How about you, you, you? Safari Niagara

We're goin' to the zoo, zoo, zoo How about you, you, you? You can come too, too, too We're goin' to the zoo, zoo, zoo

One of my favourite things to do in the summer time is visit the zoo. I love seeing all of the animals and exploring with my kiddos. This is one activity that I know I will really enjoy along with them and walking around the zoo is great exercise too!

I wanted to write this blog to share some tips and tricks to help make sure that your visit to Safari Niagara is extra fun! This is by far our favourite zoo to visit. I haven't taken the kids to the Toronto Zoo yet, but have been myself. There are a few reasons that I like Safari Niagara:

  1. The animals are easily visible so its great for younger kids

  2. They have so many monkeys and they are always putting on a show for you! This is probably Lily's favourite part of the zoo

  3. You can feed lots of the animals and interact with them. Our favourite is to feed the giraffes

  4. Even if the zoo is busy it doesn't feel that way as there is tons of walking space and the exhibits are spaced out nicely so you don't feel crowded.

  5. They have a beautiful splash pad and park for children of all ages

  6. All of the rides are included in your admission fee the only extra costs are to feed the animals and food

I am sure you will love Safari Niagara for all of the above reasons to. But I also want to share some helpful tips with you to make your visit go smoother. These are things that we've learned throughout the years of visiting this zoo that we wished we knew at the beginning.

Tips:

  • make sure you bring toonies with you so that your children can feed the animals. all the machines only take toonies

  • pack a lunch as the food is expensive

  • bring your walking shoes. the zoo is quite large and it will be helpful if you and your children wear comfortable footwear and clothing

  • bring bug spray as the areas where there are lots of trees can have quite a few bugs flying around

  • check WagJag and Groupon before going as they usually have discounted tickets on their websites

  • if you love the zoo as much as we do, they always sell discounted season passes during the winter months and that would be a great way to save some money if you plan on attending multiple times

  • keep an eye on their social media pages and website. they often have fun events happening like Brew at the Zoo and our favourite is Boo at the Zoo where the kids can go trick or treating around the park.

If you've visited the zoo let me know some things that you've found helpful so I can add it to the list to make everyone's visit as fun as possible.
